Julia Hofmann:
“I have chosen the PolitIQ PSPP MA program because I understand that it provides me with the right tools for my future career. The Soviet Union collapsed relatively recently, and a large part of the post-Soviet space decision-makers are children of the Soviet political culture. I believe that understanding the complexity of this system and building an understanding of the successor states is essential for our future. The PSPP MA program focuses on the region’s economic, political, and socio-cultural issues, which is of big academic interest to me.
With these particular aspects concerning the Russian Federation, we are dealing with in the lecture “Strategic directions and principles of Russian policy in the face of new challenges” led by Associate Professor Evgenia Andryshina. We work independently on the various range of topics and present our opinions within the seminar with fellow students. This experience-sharing is undoubtedly benefiting from all students’ different backgrounds and knowledge.
Professionally, I continue to see myself within German-Russian relations. I am still working on my Master’s thesis topic. However, the relationship between Germany and Russia will play a significant role in this choice”.
